Who is M.P.Karryall?
As
some of you might be of the curious persuasion and sit pondering the identity
of M.P. - I will relieve you of your discourse and disclose to you the tale
of Michael Paul, our Master Craftsman.
At the tender age of 17, growing-up on Long Island, New York, Michael was drawn to the salt waters surrounding the Island and the prominent marine industry of the day. During the early years, the apprentice Michael learned the craft of fashioning all manner of canvas products specially designed by his Master. After much study into design process and technique - Michael Paul eventually graduated to Craftsman and continued his studies under the direction of a sail maker. The Craftsman learns to take their trade to the next level by establishing original designs for themself and setting a course for deeper understanding into the beauty and refinement of exquisite workmanship, intimately coupled to the unique artistry and function of design.
Today the subject of apprenticeship and study under a Master Craftsman is something not readily addressed nor markedly recognized as a formal method of education. However, in the “days of old” when the ships were made of polished wood and the sheets were hoisted with pride - tradition reigned supreme for men of the sea. A young man set his sights on the honour of apprenticeship, embarking on a course of intense study under the tutelage of a Master.
Only
through years invested and great dedication may the fledgling tradesman
be reborn as a Master himself. Michael Paul’s talents and experience,
as you see them today, has evolved over 35 years. Those years were spent
perfecting his craft through the designing, and fashioning of fabrics,
from sketches and patterns to cutting and handcrafting, Michael Paul has
taken the textile industry and molded it into functional art. Expressed
in simple lines of beautiful natural fabrics, incorporating pleasurable
and stimulating textures, the bags of Michael Paul will not only entice
the senses, but provide you with a trusted friend that will hold your secrets
and your beloved treasures.
A sack, a bag, a purse, a reticule, a pack, a satchel, a duffel - whatever you call it, throughout the centuries we have always looked to contain our stuff, making life portable and personal. Whether you consider the paraphernalia of life cherished collectables or just excess baggage, Michael Paul invites you to place your duff in a bag of distinction - an M.P.Karryall creation, expressly handcrafted for your life.
